Forms of international assignment
An expat can work for his employer on the basis of a local contract or on the basis of an international assignment. Borrie Expatriate Services differentiates between four basic forms of international assignment:
- Business trips shorter than 3 months
- Short international assignment of 3 to 12 months
- Medium to longer international assignment of 1-3 to maximum 5 years
- Split family (for example three weeks away, one week at home)
Naturally, hybrid forms are also conceivable.
Borrie Expatriate Services has developed a clear Expat Policy for each of the 4 basic forms listed, in which all aspects of the four forms of international assignment are incorporated and on the basis of which it is also easy to determine the financial consequences of every form.
In this way, we like to swap thoughts with you, so that you know exactly where you and your employee stand and you can choose the best conceivable form of international assignment.
