personal touch in relocation

International assignment Terms and Conditions / Expat Policy

Linked to our chosen four forms of international assignment, we have developed four packages of international assignment terms and conditions. These can form the basis
– whether or not combined – for your company’s Global Mobility policy.

The Expat Policy that Borrie Expatriate Services develops for your company in collaboration with you is a tailor-made scheme that reflects developments in the market, the economic situation or amended legislation (relating to tax and social insurance). The package can be expanded or slimmed down, depending on the type of international assignment.

Roughly speaking, every policy contains the following main elements:

  • Introduction (content and scale)
  • Preparation for international assignment (visas / work permits)
  • Remuneration / payments and means of payment
  • Remuneration package: tax equalisation or tax protection
  • Assistance / advice on tax and social security
  • Career development / training / schooling
  • Travel (home leave) / car
  • Transport / relocation
  • Accommodation (temporary and guest/home country)
  • Insurance, including medical
  • Leave / holidays
  • Repatriation (return / dismissal)
  • Miscellaneous (applicable labour law, payroll administration, pension)
  • Assignment Letter (recording the terms and conditions of the international assignment and the agreements made individually with the employee)
Together as One.
