Highly skilled migrant salary criteria 2017 and Japanese need a work permit again per January 2017

The following gross monthly salaries apply for highly skilled migrants as of January 1, 2017:

  • Highly skilled migrant 30 years and older – EUR 4,324 excluding 8% holiday allowance
  • Highly skilled migrant younger than 30 years – EUR 3,170 excluding 8% holiday allowance
  • Dutch graduates qualifying for orientation year – EUR 2,272 excluding 8% holiday allowance

Per 1 January Japanese nationals are no longer free to access to the Dutch labour market. For the last 2 years, Japanese enjoyed an exemption of the requirement of a work permit to work in the Netherlands. This privilege has come to an end.
